Clean water
Many households still rely on unsafe sources, making waterborne illness a daily risk.
A rural community with extraordinary potential in Mityana District, Uganda.
Kabumba is a rural community in Mityana District, Central Uganda, along the Hoima Road corridor. Most families rely on small-scale farming, with limited access to healthcare, quality education, skills training and economic opportunities.
It is a community full of potential, ambition and hardworking people. Our aim is to work alongside them to create opportunities, improve livelihoods and build a more sustainable future.
Small community. Big potential. Lasting change.
Our partnership with Kabumba began with a single, practical need: water.
With the support of the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride community, we funded a borehole that became the only water source for over 100 households. That borehole did more than quench thirst — it proved that sustainable change is possible when a community is listened to and invested in.
Today, the water project continues to serve families every day. But the people of Kabumba asked for more than water. They asked for education, opportunity, and a future. That is why we are now building the Kabumba Model Village.
Kabumba faces the same challenges as many rural communities in Uganda. But together we can address them holistically — not one problem at a time, but as an integrated vision for the whole community.

Children lack safe classrooms, books, and digital tools to thrive in today’s world.
Basic healthcare and sanitation are limited, especially for mothers and young children.
Youth unemployment and subsistence farming trap families in cycles of poverty.
A sustainable, community-led model where families can learn, work, access healthcare, and build a brighter future.
A school and library that open doors for children and adults.
Basic medical services and clean water to protect families.
Skills training and small-business support to build financial independence.
A shared space where people gather, learn, worship, and grow together.
Each project is a step toward the model village. Explore the portfolio and see where your support goes.
